4 months old

I have not been as good at blogging about Trinity's stats and growing and such but I will hopefully get better.  I have been keeping track of them for the most part.  I just haven't been blogging about them.  So I have combined a couple of blogs as I try to play catch up.  This is primarily where I journal so I am thinking I need to get this published.  For whoever reads this, do you know of a good place/way to transfer the blog into book?

Little Trinity is getting so big already! These two kids have definitely been keeping me busy. And to top it all off, I am now back to work :(  Trinity has been through a few rough spots the last 4 months. Right before her 2 month appt, she started to get sick and so we took her in and found out she had RSV. Which is no big deal if you are over 6 months, because then it is just like a cold. However, when you are less mobile such as Trinity, it becomes a bigger deal. She had to have breathing treatments for a couple days and had a stuffy nose for about 3 weeks and still has a bit of one now. But she is doing much better now.
Trinity turned 4 months old on February 27th which means in just a couple days she will be 5 months old.  We had her Dr. appt on the 27th as well.  She has been a bit harder of a baby to have than Braylee was, and although I know I am not supposed to compare them, since they are 2 completely different people, I have nothing else to compare it to.  It has seemed as if my poor baby has been in pain or something so when we went to the doctor I talked to him about what she does and how she acts and what I think (or rather the internet has made me think).  And he agreed that it seemed to be reflux.  So he gave us a perscription for an infant antacid and said she will grow out of the medicine and reflux soon.  There didn't seem to be much of an improvement so we started giving her warm bottles and gas drops before each bottle as well as 1-2 bowls of rice cereal per day and she has be doing really well! Still not sleeping through the night but at least no taking naps :). She is happy and smiling and laughing all the time and absolutely LOVES her bumbo seat.  She also LOVES er sister and spends much of her awake time smiling and laughing and everything Braylee does.  Again, for anyone who reads this, it is for journaling purposes that I put this on here so if it seems TMI or that I am complaining, it is for me for later in life when I can't remember a single thing, I can look back and hopefully know how I was feeling at this time in my, and my children's lives :)

She is growing up so fast. She has started to develop a bit of a  personality.  She is VERY ticklish on her chunky little legs and belly.  She rolled over completely from back to belly for the first time last week.  I say "completely" because for the last week or so she roll almost all they way over but just couldn't quite get her head up and get off her shoulder so she was in an awkward position most of the time.  haha. She did it twice that day and hasn't done it again since  She laughs and smiles all the time, especially when her older sister is around.  UPDATE** she now rolls over all the time and ends up sleeping on her belly for most naps which makes me laugh since she HATES tummy time when she is awake.

Here are Trinity's Stats for her 2 month appt.:

Weight: 11 lbs
Height: 22.5 in

Brad took her so I didn't get her head circumference. But she is average in everything else.

Trinity's 4 month Stats are:

Weight - 13 lbs 4 oz
Height - 24.25 in
Head - 41 cm

All in about the 50%.

As for Braylee, she will be 3!!! in 3 weeks! I can't believe it.  Her birthday falls on a Saturday so we get to have the party on her actual birthday.  I am thinking of doing a carnival type deal with a bounce house and bean bag toss (with prizes of course), also cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream and such.  Her personality is SO hillarious to me.  She always has something to say, literally, ALWAYS.  I think the only time she is not talking, is when one of her shows is on (and she usually talks during those too) and when she is sleeping.  She always "hides" (puts behind her back) stuff we ask her to get, like diaper or something, and then says "where is it?" and we, of course, say "I don't know, where is it?" and then she says "abra-daba" (abra-ka-dabra) and it "magically" appears.  She has me laughing everyday with the stuff she does and says.  One of her other favorite things to say is "darnit sakes" when something doesn't go right it is hillarious.

Now for the pictures I know some have been waiting for:

Trinity learning to grab her toys and Braylee helping :)
The rare occasion, Braylee taking a nap, and both at the same time.
Getting ready to show off her skills
Rolling over (aka her skills :))

Blessing and Baptism

Brad was baptized on December 3.  It was pretty exciting and turned out to be a great service.  My Dad spoke on Baptism and my Mom spoke on the Holy Ghost.  Elder Adjei (from Ghana) baptized him.  Then the following day in Sacrament Elder Andrews (from Pittsburgh) confirmed him.  I have a picture but it is an actual picture and not on my camera so I have to find a scanner since I don't have one.

Trinity was blessed this past Sunday (December 18), she was blessed by my dad and the blessing was great! Brad go to go up to and hold the microphone.  And just to make sure I was involved in the day as well I was asked to speak in church.  I made it through although I was terrified!!!!!

Here are the 2 pics I took of Trinity in her blessing dress (no pics with family cuz we all kinda parted ways after Sacrament. And she was out of her dress later when we met up  for dinner.  Although to document Aaron and Ashley and their family were there as well as Candice, Colby, Tom, Chris, and my parents.

Trinity - 1 month old

Trinity turned one month old about 3 weeks ago (I know a little slow). Nonetheless we are doing ok.  Trinity is anti-sleep.  She is awake almost ALL day it takes quite a bit to get her to sleep for longer than 1 hour at a time during the day and you would think that would make her sleep a lot at night but that would be false thinking.  She will sleep maybe 3 hours at a time even at night.  No idea why either.  She doesn't cry as much as she used to and we are working on it but I still love her no matter what.  But that is my excuse for taking so long to write about her one month check up.  Right now she is still not sleeping but is quietly laying down and Braylee is miraculously taking a nap (which she rarely does now-a-days).  The Dr. was a little worried about her weight when we went in but she has since plumped up ok.

Her 1 month stats are:

Weight: 7lbs 4 oz (10th percentile) - she is now 9+ lbs
Height: 21 in
Head: 36 cm (ish. .)

I didnt' get the percentiles on everything else.  Braylee is doing better and enjoying her sister.  She always wants to hold her and kiss her and hug her. Even when it is not the appropriate time haha.

Here are a few pictures of my angels: (warning: there is a bit of a picture overload. . )

Trinity Rose Koch

Since Trinity wasn't due until November 12, I was VERY unprepared for her arrival which was October 27th.

I got up on  Thursday morning like most other Thursday's to go to work.  I was looking for clothes (which were of course all over the floor and not in drawers/closet where they should be).  So as I turned around to look for something else to wear, I felt what I assumed was me peeing my pants.  "Weird" I thought to myself "I just went pee" (I am not thinking water breaking at this point at all!) So I went and changed and started to finish getting ready when I peed my pants again. But it wasn't as much this time so I just figured it was normal and  started the process of getting ready again.  AND AGAIN, I felt like I was peeing my pants. This is the point (yes 3 times later) that I thought maybe I should go to the hospital and get it checked out "just in case."  So I woke Brad up and told him I was heading to the hospital to make sure everything was okay.  Then I finished getting ready for work (I was still sure I was just imangining things and wanted to be ready to go to work after the hospital).  At this point, I should also say, I have NOTHING ready for the hospital.  I had every intention of packing a bag and setting up the pack 'n' play in my room that coming weekend.  Okay so back to going to the hospital thing.  I got to the hospital in my work clothes, which included my skirt and way cute high heeled boots, and the nurse just looked at me like I was crazy when I said I was there to make sure my water didn't break. I wasn't feeling any contractions at this point either.  So the ER nurse called labor and delivery and they sent someone down to get me.  The L&D nurse arrived with a wheelchair but decided we didn't need said wheelchair after seeing me. haha.  Once I got to Triage (where I had a GREAT nurse) she did an initial check and after a few tests she let me know my water did break and I was dialted to almost a 4 and that I would be having the baby that day.  So as I got checked in and in my room and such I called Brad and he dropped Braylee off to my sister Courtney who graciously offered to watch Braylee as well as her other 2 kids until my mom got home.  THANK YOU to both!! Courtney was in town only until Saturday so it was really fun to have her there to meet Trinity.

I was trying to avoid pitocin so my first Item of business was to inform the nurses of that.  They didn't seem to thrilled about it but were nice enough to tell me it was completely up to me.  I was checked in at about 8 and was allowed to walk around and stay out of bed and all that stuff until I either asked for the pitocin or an epidural.  Then I would have to stay in bed.  At 9 the nurse said I had until 11 to decide if I wanted pitocin or anitbiotics (to avoid infection since my water had broken) if my contractions didn't get close enough.  At 11, luckily she had something to do and told me she would be back in a bit and we could make the decision.  Well as 12 rolled around the contractions got closer and I was dialated to about a 6 which meant no pitocin!! Hooray!

My epidural was the next item of business.  I had 3 more mom's in labor who were ahead of me but finally the lovely drug man arrived.  In my book, it was the best epidural I could have gotten.  I was able to feel the contractions a bit still (mainly pressure and a bit discomfort but nothing like I am sure real labor feels like).  I knew when it was time to push and when that time came I could feel everything.  I knew when she was crowning and could feel a dull "ring of fire" and I knew exactly when her head was out.  It took 3 contractions and about 10 min or pushing and her head was out.  From that point, I didn't do anything.  They had me stop pushing while they got the gunk out of her mouth and I could feel her shoulders working their way out and I let the Dr. know it was NOT me pushing (he, of course, already knew that). she just kinda coasted her way out without any help from me after the head.  She has quite a set of lungs on her, a very high pitched cry but really cute of course.

Her measurements were 6 lbs 6 oz, 18 inches.  And here she is!

Braylee adoring her new baby sister.

 Uncle Chris (or "tiss")

Auntie Candice (or "Tandy" as Braylee would say) - As a side note for Candice, Braylee just saw this picture and she said, "that's Tandy, I  love Tandy"

Braylee seems a bit skeptical here but she is warming up to Trinity pretty well.

First Family Picture

Well lots has happened in the last month and a half. I will post in chronological order.

We finished painting Trinity's room.  I still have to finish decorating with pictures and such but here are a couple pictures.

We had a family reunion on October 22 with my mom's side of the family (pictures to come).  There were about 60+ people there and it was SO much fun to see everyone.  Most of them I haven't seen in about 4 years.  It was held at my parents house here in Henderson (first time ever to be held here) and it was to celebrate family and my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary.  There was a bounce house and food and crafts and food and visiting and, of course, more food.  My Dad did a lot of the cooking so it was DELICIOUS!!!! Everyone seemed to have lots of fun seeing all the family.  We were only missing about 24 people total of the whole family.  And all those people were definitely missed!

Next is probably the most exciting and suprising.  Trinity Rose Koch (we decided to change the middle name) decided to grace us with her presence 2 weeks early (2 weeks and 2 days to be exact).  Her due date of November 12 was just too long for her to wait and she came to meet us and the world on October 27.  There will be a post dedicated to her and the birth story.  But here is a picture of the beautiful girl.

October 29th was my ward's (and 2 or 3 other wards) Trunk or Treat.  And since my Parent's ward was one of the other wards there we all dressed up as a team.  Literally, a team.  We were the New England Patriots, with Braylee as our Patriots Cheerleader, and since Trinity was able to be there too, we wrapped her in a football blanket to be part of the fun.  My parents were the away players and jerseys and Brad and I were the Home Team.  Braylee seemed to have more fun passing out the candy then going around getting some of her own.  (She did the same for Halloween night as well).  Candice was there as a Blonde Smurf which was SO cute! but I didn't get a picture. . . .

Here she is handing out candy on Halloween (although she would just get scared and we would hand it out when kids came to the door. haha.

Last but not least.  Brad and my Father-in-Law built Braylee a sandbox! She always wants to go outside and play and she would go straight to a corner and start building "sand castles" but since there was no sand it was just dirt and rocks.  So after looking at our options of buying a sandbox it seemed like a better idea to just build one since that way it would be bigger for the same amount (or a little less) of money.  Braylee was SO excited and that is all she has wanted to do for the past 2 days.
